The system separates mail data into predefined zones in the presort computer. The zone might consist of all mail destined for a particular bulk mail center. The mail data is uploaded into the WinSort Smart Scheme computer where a specialized analysis is performed to create optimized sort schemes specific to that mail. The mail piece is created and then commingled on the sorter before it is submitted to the USPS.
