The USPS allows substantial discounts to mailers who provide their mailings in a highly automated format. These work share discounts provide the incentive for maintaining the greatest levels of automation. To do this, printed address information must follow a very consistent format and specification. Verification of this consistency provides both the mailers and the USPS with a very efficient production process.
BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s JETVision™ Postal Verification module provides a vast collection of individual tools and technologies all designed to test the quality and postal processing efficiency of the mailpiece. Unlike other vendors’ systems, these tools use the similar testing criteria and procedures as the current MERLIN® program running in the USPS.
The ability to catch errors before they become problems—while providing useful and clear feedback to solve problems quickly—was a key philosophy behind JETVision Postal Verification technology. Building on the extensive tool set available using JETVision technology, we developed additional tools to target unique specifications.

Postal Verification performs 23 different tests to each mailpiece as they are processed through the transport module. All tests are performed in real time.
Reporting
Postal Verification reports provide a summary grouping of the entire job. This same report engine gives all statistical summaries of both good and failed pieces along with a complete summary of errors and warnings. Item details can be reached by a click on the actual mailpiece. This drill down architecture allows the user the freedom to access the data to their own required resolution.
